On April 3, Keyshu volunteers made a meaningful visit to Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center in Bac Ninh Province. This was not only an annual charitable activity, but also an opportunity for the Keyshu team to express deep gratitude for the noble sacrifices of previous generations.

Representatives of the Keyshu volunteer group and wounded veterans captured a commemorative moment at Thuan Thanh Nursing Center.
Sending Love to the “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers”
Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center is currently home to 83 severely wounded and ill veterans from provinces across the country. In a warm and intimate atmosphere, the Keyshu volunteer group had the opportunity to sit down and listen to stories about heroic wartime years and the extraordinary resilience of the veterans as they overcame physical pain to continue living positively and healthily.

A quiet moment as a wounded veteran shared stories of resilience and courage.
Witnessing the optimism of these “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in everyday life, every member of the group was deeply moved and promised themselves to make greater efforts to contribute to the community.

Warm conversations bridged the distance between two generations on the center’s campus.
Since its establishment more than half a century ago, the center has received and cared for over 1,000 severely wounded veterans from battlefields across the country. Today, it manages 83 class 1/4 wounded veterans with disability rates from 81% to 100%. Most are partially paralyzed and move by wheelchair, while some have been bedridden for more than 40 years.

War did not leave wounds only on the body. Many veterans here carry permanent injuries as well as the aftereffects of Agent Orange, along with chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney failure, hepatitis, and back ulcers. Some still have shrapnel or bullets remaining in their bodies from battles that took place decades ago. Whenever the weather changes, old wounds ache again, affecting their meals, sleep, and health.

The “pains” of wartime — evidence of a heroic era and courage for the Fatherland.
Located on more than 2.5 hectares, Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center is scientifically planned with specialized functional areas, from collective living areas and infirmary to offices and family spaces. Thanks to the care of the Party, the State, and local authorities, the center has undergone strong transformation. The cramped old one-story houses have been replaced by spacious, modern facilities with adequate equipment, significantly improving the quality of life for the veterans.
